Implantable Cardioverter Defibrillators (ICDs): Contemporary ICDs are increasingly "subcutaneous" (S-ICD), meaning the entire system sits just under the skin without touching the heart or blood vessels. This is particularly beneficial for younger patients who require lifelong rhythm protection.
Digital Electrophysiology (EP) Mapping: High-density mapping catheters now use AI algorithms to create 3D color-coded maps of the heart's electrical activity in seconds. This allows clinicians to identify the exact source of an arrhythmia (such as Atrial Fibrillation) and neutralize it with extreme precision using radiofrequency or cryoablation.
